The Digital Dada Library provides links to scanned images of original Dada-era publication in the International Dada Archive. These books, pamphlets, and periodicals are housed in the Special Collections Department of The University of Iowa Libraries. Well worth a look.

Ballet and bass drum – its Friday. Fashion icon Hedi Slimane has recently directed this potent short film in collaboration with VMAN. Its stars the only 16 year old Danish ballet dancer Oscar Nilsson from the Royal Danish Ballet Theatre and a drummer with a bear head.

Inspired by the collation and sorting of random data sources, Danish design polymaths Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal are reinterpreting information and expressing it by way of wooden sculptures, hand-benched silkscreen prints and offset posters. The result is a crafted appearance of layers and textures that belie the hard-edged nature of the raw data.

Julius Klinkhardt established in 1834 a bookstore in Leipzig, over the years he expanded his business to include book production, a printing office, a type foundry and a book bindery. These lovely prints are fine examples of what they were able to produce on their letterpress machines. read more

Star designer Jason Bruges takes part in the recently opened exhibition at the V&A entitled DECODE with his contribution Mirror, Mirror. White dot matrix digital panels are arranged in the pond, awakening as visitors come into view. Cameras mounted within the LED dot matrices capture activity in the garden and simultaneously reflect this back to the viewer; the animated images are then mirrored once again in the surface of the water, creating multiple reflections. www.jasonbruges.com
