VICE & Intel are launching a project featuring more than 80 Artists from around the world pushing creative boundaries, including names like Interpol, Spike Jonze, Mark Ronson, Richie Hawtin, Ma Yansong, Alexandre Herchcovitch and many others. Five international exhibitions will be held in New York, London, Sao Paulo, Seoul and Beijing.

Anders Bojen & Kristoffer Ørum – Unknown Continents

Computer generated landscapes in films and computer games increasingly influence the way we imagine alternatives to our present day lives. In collaboration with Ardor3D, who have worked with among others NASA, the artists have developed a real-time 3D programme. Continents emerge on one globe after another in an infinite series of alternative worlds. Tuur Van Balen – Pigeon d’Or

“Designer Tuur Van Balen is currently working on a very intriguing project called Pigeon d’Or (“golden pigeon”). Jason Bruges Studio

Interactive design studio Jason Bruges latest invention is a piece mimicking the Mimosa flower family – light panels that open and close like flowers in response to the presence of viewers. This installation was created in collaboration with Philips using their Lumiblade OLED (organic LED) modules and was presented for the first time during the Milan furniture fair 2010.

Andreas Muxel – Connect

The kinetic sculpture “CONNECT” consists of thirteen oscillating spheres of steel connected to a matrix with a rubber band. A rod with a magnet on each side controls the action of each of the system elements. Once a sphere is connected to the rod, a motor activates its oscillation as long as the rod detaches and rebuilds a new connection to another sphere.

Ergenekon.tc is a piece by New York and Istanbul based artist Burak Arikan which shows the network diagram of the society depicted in the 2455 page Ergenekon* bill of indictment. Based on the statistical analysis of the judicial text, connections between the actors of Ergenekon revealed.
*Ergenekon is an illegal covert network found in Turkey, whose lawsuit is in progress.

WePad

Before anyone even has had the chance to own an Ipad its already been passed on the inside by the WePad. German technology company Neofonie‘s WePad is in many ways superior to the Ipad with its 11,6″ screen and a resolution of 1366×768 px compared to Ipads 9,7″ and 1024×768 px. WePad sports two USB ports, webcam and supports Flash, as well as the ability to handle multiple open applications – the Ipad features non of this. Read full specs here.
