The Dutch artist Marcel van Eeden produces at least one drawing every day. His sources are photographs, many of them taken from newspapers or magazines. His only requirement is that these photographs must have originated before 1965—before he was born. In this way, van Eeden undertakes an almost encyclopedic exploration of the world of his parents and grandparents, a world he could not experience with his own five senses. read more

The family emigrated to Michigan where she studied at Kalamazoo College in 1992 followed by a visit to Cheik Anta Diop University in Dakar before achieving an M.F.A from Rhode Island School of Design in 1997. read more

Ingvar Cronhammar

When Swedish Ingvar Cronhammar was 17 years old, he immigrated to Denmark to study art at Århus Art Academy (1968–71). He was part of the Århus avantgard movement which consisted of authors, sculptors, composers and people driven by outrage towards the established art scene. read more

Sniff

Karolina Sobecka’s work is interactive and playful in various ways and her latest piece, named ‘Sniff’, is truly inspiring. Placed on a storefront display in Brooklyn, a projection of a CG Dog interacts with people passing by, reacting to their movements and behaviours. In a similar way, her piece ‘Wildlife’ has a tiger being projected onto buildings from a car that’s moving in different speeds. read more
