Popel Coumou looks for the romanticism in geometry and human absence. The way the outline of a dusty window is projected on a bleak floor shows the almost tangible loneliness in her photographs. Nevertheless the source of these works is a lot less evident than first suspected. read more

In addition to his more traditional work, Belgian photographer Filip Dujardin creates imaginary buildings by resampling pictures of real buildings; that is, he digitally pieces together elements of existing architecture to create fictional structures. Dujardin often starts with a specific idea for an image, then creates a cardboard maquette or a 3D computer model of the final shape he has in mind. read more

The centre will through science-based, hands-on experiences offer activities to empower young Syrians to contribute actively in building their future, by Danish architect group Henning Larsen Architects. When visiting the St Michiel Church in Leuven one might overlook that the church has no dome. Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh build an installation that takes this seemingly trivial fact as a starting point and generate the missing dome in a remarkable way. read more
