It all started when Nuria Rius was fourteen years old in her mum’s butcher’s shop. She started her professional career there, doing the best burgers at the Market, a job that she combined with her studies in Arts. The Venezuelan artist Mariana Monteagudo best known for her Munecas, doll sculptures, is beginning a new body of work. Little heroes, action figures, cartoon characters such as Betty Boop and Barbie dolls are the sources of inspiration for her new series titled Fake Idols.

A professional S&M Dominatirx and Master were hired for 24 hours to come and guide an artist through a days work. Through embarrassing yet self indulgent actions (such as phoning the Barbara Gladstone Gallery and pleading the receptionist for an appointment) the myth of the artist ego is disembodied and ridiculed.
