Venom Yum

Japanese Fall is the latest project by Danish multi disciplinary design & illustration studio Venom Yum. 80% of the 12 x 12 cm patch blocks are designed and printed by Venom Yum. The rest are gathered and found in Japan, Scandinavia and the US by friends and VY.

A quilt is supposed to carry a legacy and so each patch has its own story. One is made from a ceremonial sake bag from a wedding in Tokyo in 2006, another patch is cut from a Danish vintage cloth from 1974, a gold embellished patch from Japan is found in a fabric store in Californian hippie village Berkeley, another one is cut from a friend’s shirt, etc etc.
