The other day I received this new publication through my letterbox, the very first issue of “The Radio Post”. The publication, a foldable poster is compiled and designed by Simon Roche of Field Graphic Designers, based in Dublin and Copenhagen.
The introduction to the first issue reads “Delicious analogue things: hand-printed photographs, valve amps, love letters, Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh, glaciers, cod & chips, Harold Lloyd’s stunts, letterpressed books and car engines you can fix with a spanner. All these things, as Rutger Hauer’s Roy said in Blade Runner, will be lost in time – like tears in rain. And hey, we love progress and we love our computers and pdfs and sms and all that, but while the beautiful tactile and faulted nature of these analogue things ebbs away we are publishing The Radio Post as a little salute, a tip of the cap, to anything related to those beautiful objects and processes. We have no real plan and no real system but we will try an publish this every two months, if not more, sponsors and finances allowing”.
The foldable poster measures 42 x 68,5 cm and is printed on Fedrigoni’s Saville Row Tweed paper. If you want to get your hands on this lovely piece of limited print, only a 1000, then go to The Radio Post’s website and order your copy there.
