Michał Smandek

Michał Smandek was born in 1981 in Ruda Śląska. He lives and works in Świętochłowice, Poland. Between 2001-2007 he studied at the sculpture faculty of the Department of Artistic Education at Silesian University. He presently works as a teacher of sculpture at High Schools of Fine Arts in Katowice and Zabrze. In his opinion every matter and space is fit for sculpture. But everything depends which method of creation, ideas and forms we choose. After his travel experience in America he looks for mystical and desolate places which are inspiration for his land-art installations. Michał Smandek works in sculpture, installations, land-art and video.
