If you are an alumni of Central Saint Martins, this might be of interest for you. To coincide with The Big Draw (October 2009), we are delighted to invite you, as alumni of Central Saint Martins, to revisit the buildings that you studied in and produce a drawing of the part of the College that is special to you.
This exciting project ‘Mapping the Move’ will attempt to capture the essence and history of the buildings (Charing Cross Road and Southampton Row) with drawings by staff, students and most importantly alumni who have passed through the buildings over the years.
The project will be part of the long farewell to current buildings, as CSM prepare for the move to Kings Cross in September 2011. It will mark this significant occasion in the history of CSM, and be run in partnership with UAL Centre for Drawing.
Your drawing would be accompanied by a short narrative about the drawing (approx. 300 words), detailing the significance of the space you have drawn. The project will culminate in an online gallery of the pieces, a physical archive of selected drawings, and the possibility of an exhibition and publication within the next three years.
There will be more information about the project, including dates and times of the drawing sessions, in the coming months. To register your interest, or if you have any questions please email alumni@arts.ac.uk
Best wishes,
