His photography spread Californian modernism around the world and through his many books, exhibits and personal appearances his work ushered in a new appreciation for the movement beginning in the 1990s. Over the weekend I came across American photographer Bobby Neel Adams work, and was instantly captured by his arresting images. As he describes himself, he began in the late 1980s to use a photomontage technique which he termed “photo-surgery”. read more
