DIY Kyoto, the team of Royal College of Art graduates behind the multi award-winning energy monitor wattson, that The Guardian has described as ‘the closest we’ve come yet to an iPod of smart meters – something cool and desirable’ are launching a student design competition, inviting aspiring designers to create a new graphic design for the exterior of the wattson. Chanel A/W 2010 Show

For Chanel’s recent show in Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week creative director Karl Lagerfeld orchestrated 35 ice sculptors to build an icescape out of 240 tonnes of frozen snow ice, reaching 8.5 meter at its highest point it was a rather impressive sight and achievement for a runway.

If you happen to be around Long Beach, California from today to the 13 February 2010 and have paid $6,000 then you are most probably attending the TED Conference. For us who haven’t been “lucky” enough to get a ticket, all the talks will be posted in 6 months time on TED’s website. Here is a list of the full line up.
