“I knot a thread until no other knot can be added.”
According to this plan, I worked on a kilometre long thread of sewing silk from Oktober 2000 until November 2004. I just added one knot next to the other. On 03/31/2003 the entire material was thus worked over for the first time, and had been reduced to a length of 233 m. read more

Günther Förg (born 5 December 1952 in Fuessen, southern Bavaria) is a prominent German painter, graphic designer, sculptor, and photographer. He studied from 1973 until 1979 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. His first individual exhibition took place in 1980 at the Munich gallery Rüdiger Schöttle. From 1992 until 1999 he taught at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe. His abstract style is influenced by American abstract painting. Günther Förg
