Omar Ba creates paintings that stand apart due to their unusual iconography. The contrast between the fantasy creatures and the sensuousness of the details is at one and the same time fascinating and disturbing. Allegorical messages are concealed in his paintings and examine power systems that exert influence on political, social and cultural themes but also on the problem of identity in Africa.
