I don’t believe in black or white, I don’t believe in right or wrong. I recognize many different grey areas and I want to show them. I suspect that it’s just those areas and the people who go there, that are an image of the true meaning of being human.
My vision is without judgement but not objective. I leave out all disturbing factors which makes my work confronting, naked and honest. This way, my photo’s tell intimate and personal stories. Stories that are often an example of a current social situation. My series show a new truth. A truth that is different from the one that is socially accepted. I try to find the edge._Mirjam Tonnaer
