Luke Gilford’s work whether photographs for Maison Martin Margiela, a music video for Casey Spooner or a documentary on Miss America, taps into our collective unconscious resonating in ways which are at once intimately familiar and wholly unknown. Therein lies the fundamental power of his vision, to find the sublime and arcane in the every day, re-presenting the prosaic in a way which becomes heroically peculiar and inspiring.
