Andrew Myers’ work can seem more like the production of a culture than an individual. Juxtaposing an encyclopedia of things and ideas about things, his playful but somehow worrying images seek to examine and reevaluate tracts of our social existence to expose both their absurdity and their triumphant, factual realness. High and low, pop and what we can perhaps call un-pop objects, places, ideas and people get thrown into his matrix backwards, emerging into the frame of his camera reinvented, satirized to the point of simulacra.
