2010 Pulitzer Price

This years winners of the prestigious Pulitzer prices were announced last night in New York. Mary Chind of The Des Moines Register was awarded the price for Breaking News Photography for her photograph of the heart-stopping moment when a rescuer dangling in a makeshift harness tries to save a woman trapped in the foaming water beneath a dam. DINDI VAN DER HOEK

Dindi van der Hoek graduated in 1999 from the Willem de Kooning Academy and the Piet Zwart Institute and developed a photographic portfolio with unique images which, for the greater part, are shot under water. The fascinating forms of the human body caused by the water’s reflections combined with her unconventional perspective about physical aesthetics determines the appearance of Dindi’s work. read more
