The Scan Processor Studies

The Scan Processor Studies are a collection of works by Woody Vasulka & Brian O’Reilly. The full work is of total approximate duration of 45 minutes, with sections of various lengths, textures, and dynamic qualities. The source materials were generated by Woody Vasulka using a 1970’s Rutt-Etra Scan Processor having been recently digitized.

London was the final stop in a marathon journey around Britain filmed as a series of cinema travelogues. Pioneering filmmaker Claude Friese-Greene brought these picture-postcard scenes to life with a specially-devised colour film process.

The All Seeing Eye

In case you’ve missed out on this great piece of work from 2005, “The All Seeing Eye” by acclaimed director Michel Gondry and artist Pierre Bismuth, then here is your chance. It won the 2005 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, making Bismuth the only contemporary artist to have ever received an Oscar.

Austrian artist Peter Kogler simply invades and transforms the exhibition space by making it an integral part of his work. When I visited one of his exhibitions in Vienna in 2008, I was instantly struck by how one as a viewer merges into his landscapes of silk-screened wallpaper, abstract patterns and video installations. read more
