PUTPUT – Popsicles

Referencing a classic product pack shot the ‘Popsicles’ series creates an imitation of a common object through a purposeless addition. Both products represent different aspects of everyday life and are recognizable in their own right. They are morphed into a fictional replica creating a visual double take and a dysfunctional bi product.
PUTPUT is a Swiss/Danish artist group consisting of Stefan Friedli and Ulrik Martin Larsen, established in 2011 and based in Copenhagen.
In our work we are interested in reconfiguring, re-inventing and questioning the purpose and context of objects and situations associated with or part of everyday life. Our photography based work references classic genres; with a focus on causing a visual double take we interrogate objects and situations to build a bridge between idea, meaning, expression and artifact. We set out to capture the previously unseen by transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary._PUTPUT
