Pari Dukovic was born in Istanbul originally of Greek descent in 1984. His first connection to photography was through his father. He gave him his first camera. In 2002, He moved to the United States in order to complete his undergraduate studies. After graduating from RIT, He moved to New York City where he started developing several bodies of work.
For someone interested in subcultures, New York City is perfect place to be. Here I witness a city driven by the energy of it’s people, constantly moving forward. This parallel to the long-standing traditions of my home country provide an interesting insight into what brings people together. People and their passions are at the essence of my work. In using my camera as a way of capturing their freedom of expression, I in turn, am able to capture my own.
His work has apperead in New York Magazine, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Esquire and GQ. He was also listed as a PDN 30 photographer in 2011.
