NOBU – A stylized portrait of a Japanese immigrant

NOBU is a short film about former karate world champion and Japanese immigrant Nobuaki Konno. Nobu moved to the Netherlands forty years ago and it has always been a bit of a question mark to his daughter why exactly. In this film his daughter and fashion designer Lisa Konno asks him about cultural differences while he wears a collection she made for him. The film combines aesthetics with humour and social engagement with optimism. Directed by Sarah Blok. Design by Lisa Konno.
