Jeff Ladouceur

Jeff Ladouceur was born in 1975 on Vancouver Island. He is a self-taught artist, living and working in New York and Canada. His work consists primarily of ink, pencil, acrylic and a feeling for cartoonified line. His condensed, delicate renderings intertwine the mystic with the mundane and seem to draw upon certain visual references ( from 1930’s hack animation to William Blake).
Crops of small works on paper suggest a subconscious dialogue between multiple selves through a familiar and ever-growing personal iconography. Ladouceur’s work has been reproduced in various publications, including Harpers, McSweeney’s and Kramers Ergot.
Ladouceur is represented by ZieherSmith Gallery, New York, and Richard Heller Gallery, Los Angeles.
