Pioneering performance artist Ulay has died, aged 76

Ulay (born Frank Uwe Laysiepen; November 30, 1943) was one of the pioneers of body art, performance art and polaroid art; he was a transvestite, a half man – half woman, and a social activist. He received international recognition for his Polaroid art and collaborative performance art with longtime companion Marina Abramović.
