Robert F. Alvarez

Robert F. Alvarez (b. 1988) creates visual narratives drawn from his own writings and observations. With a background in advertising and graphic design, Alvarez’s bold images are often centered on issues of identity, where he examines the intersection of text and image to promote a dialogue of reflection and consideration. Working primarily with black ink, which the artist describes as having a distinct “narrative power intrinsic to our documented experiences,” his works are imbued with a sense of disillusionment or melodrama that facilitates conversations and expresses genuine experiences. Alvarez is currently based in Austin, TX.
