LIFE CELEBRATES 75 YEARS!

Over its 2,000-plus issues, LIFE magazine – the premier photo magazine of its time, known not only in the United States but around the world – featured countless personalities, from cinema stars to sports heroes, politicians to pop idols. What was it like to be on the cover, beside that iconic red-and-white logo? How did it feel to open the magazine and see yourself splashed across eight pages? To celebrate the magazine’s 75th anniversary, LIFE checked in with several famous folks who know – from Sophia Loren and Mia Farrow to David Cassidy and beyond. Here, they reminisce about their LIFE shoots and how appearing in the magazine affected their lives.
