Cool pads photographed between 1947–1960 by American architectural photographer Julius Shulman. His photography spread Californian modernism around the world and through his many books, exhibits and personal appearances his work ushered in a new appreciation for the movement beginning in the 1990s. The photograph above is of course the iconic house by architect Pierre Koenig, also known as the Stahl House.
Julius Shulman died 98 years old, 15 July 2009.
