Joan Brossa, artist and poet born in Barcelona, was one of the founders of the artistic group Dau al Set, along with Antoni Tàpies, Modest Cuixart and Joan Ponç. Raising everyday objects to the category of artistic objects, while adding a profound poetic sensibility to this genre, was the core of his work, of which his ‘Poemes-Objecte’ (Poem-Objects) must be mentioned. International recognition came through major exhibitions in la Fundació Miró (1986) and a retrospective exhibition in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. He died in 1998.
