Yamayamado is a bar with a gallery and the owner is an alpinist. Artists, writers and people from TV comes here night after night. A beautiful affable siberian husky welcomes them. Most of them know each other. I like watching their relationships which seems a little bit complicated, that includes me. The owner is so generous and drinks like me. A 'Closed' sign is always hung in front but, don’t worry, it’s open. 5 mins on foot from Kakuouzan metro station.

It has water displays including a beautiful fountain and small lake along with lots of grass verges to lie down and soak up the warm sunshine. A great spot for relaxation, a walk... the place that I like the most is a glass building full of plants inside.

Sometimes when I wake up it feels like I am at sea watching a big ocean liner pass by. It is the view from my home in one of the two stepped concrete apartment blocks that make up the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury. When you visit skip the chain stores of the shopping centre below (except for the excellent Renoir Cinema) and instead get an invitation to one of the small but gorgeous flats with their winter gardens or just wander through the spectacular concrete A frames and across the vast sun drenched terraces on podium level.

One of my favorite aspects of living today instead of ten years ago is the feeling of all kinds of diverse people creatively contributing to the culture. And this huge independent coffee house embodies this scene. It's usually crowed with creative class types and grad students working away. There's often people from other countries in the midst of skype conversations into their computer screens. And the music completely changes depending on what band the barista is in.

This funny design objects store is located in Ruzafa, next to the “Estación del Norte” train station. It’s interior design belongs to Masquespacio, and it invites the visitors to join a pop universe inspired by the 80’s Memphis geometric aesthetics. It’s main claim are original valencian design souvenirs, that try to run away from the typical random travel gifts. Gnomo is the right store for those who want to get a nice and original gift from Valencia. You will find jewelry, postcards, illustrations, paper craft and decor.
