Tynemouth is 20 minutes from the city on the metro. It also has a great antique and farmer’s market at the weekend in the metro station. But the main draw of Tynemouth is the first of a beautiful stretch of sandy beaches which are never crowded. It reminds me of Australia. All the dogs look so shiny eyed and happy.
