One of the oldest streets of Oporto, which, besides allowing for a superb view of the city center, is sprinkled with Art Nouveau details.

Portland / Park

Up past the more famous rose garden on the west side is an arboretum with hiking trails and a zoo. Great views of Portland’s downtown and Mt. St. Helens in the distance. It’s very peaceful and any time of year it’s a nice and quick escape from the city, just takes under 10 minutes to get to.

Venice / Restaurant

With a wood panelled interior and romantic low light, this restaurant exudes the type of atmosphere you imagine of a high seas luxury cruise or train travel in the 1920s. The waiters are officiously attentive, the food incredibly tasty and fresh and the experience one not to be missed in Venice. Located near the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, you cross a small bridge and enter directly into the front door of this cosy eatery. Great spot for an authentic Venetian meal and opportunity to dine in a rather special canal-side interior.

Amsterdam / Restaurant

Cafe Modern Amsterdam is located in an old bank building in the north of Amsterdam. Authentic elements remind of the previous life of the building. You eat a delicious daily changing 4-course menu. Every day the freshest ingredients of the season.

New York / Art

Bill Brand presents an animated movie to passengers on the B and Q subway trains coming into Manhattan from Brooklyn. The project was modeled after the zoetrope, a 19th-century optical toy, which animated images inside a revolving cylinder, so that they appeared to move when viewed through narrow slits. Brand mounted 228 hand-painted panels in self-contained, illuminated units along the three-hundred-foot platform. Hop on a Manhattan-bound B or Q train at the Dekalb Avenue stop (corner of Dekalb Avenue and Flatbush Avenue Extension). Look out any window on the right side of the train.

Barcelona / Cafe

Old refurbished car workshop that is now divided into three parts: exhibition space, bookshop specialized in photobooks and a cafe. It is the only place in the city where you can have a drink, listen to a Velvet Underground vinyl, and transport it anywhere through a photobook or an exhibition.

Paris / Other

No matter what season you are, this Magritte blue sky after the sunset is the perfect moment to walk in the streets. It's the blue hour

Brighton / Shop

Really great record shop, in the heart of the North Laine. They have a really good selection of new releases and recently expanded so they could stock more vinyl records. My go to place when I need a screen break from work, as my design studio is just around the corner.

Seoul / River

Sometimes in July and August we can see this view.

Beijing / Cafe

One of our favorite meet-up places in old town Beijing close to Ditan Park. Renovated on a garage by a design veteran, the place has its unique and soulful character. A thoughtful blend of old town style and contemporary design that produces a solid and edgy vibes, true to Beijing. Their seasonal coffee menu and house desserts never fails to amaze us.

Stockholm / Restaurant

Small place with low key interior. Perfect for lunch with three small dishes. Lovely vegetarian alternatives.

Monopoli / Restaurant

This restaurant has a lot of great reviews and recommendations so we, a party of 9 gave it a try and it did not disappoint! Was very delicious, well prepared and fresh food. The veggie option, which I tried - was banging a tomato sorbet with burrata mousse and zucchini noodles - carpaccio was also next level as was the octopus. It was all so good. I would highly recommend you go if visiting the area.

Studio Vanessa Barragão is a design studio focusing on the artisanal techniques and wasted yarns from the industry to produce textiles and products for interiors. Growing up in the seaside, her connection to the ocean is the inspiration for her artworks. Vanessa Barragão’s work is characterized by her captivating environments of coral reefs, cleverly combining craft and recycled materials into unique and luxurious sculptural carpets and tapestries for floors and walls. Vanessa was born in Albufeira, in the south of Portugal. Her studio was founded in 2014 when she attended a Master degree at the Lisbon University in fashion and textiles design. There she developed her first wool yarn collection and tapestries through an ecological artisanal process. Currently, she is based in Porto, the Northern region of Portugal where the nation’s textile industry core is located, and divides her time between collaborating as a textile designer for an artisanal rugs factory and running her studio.
