Ryan Koopmans (BA, MFA) is a Dutch Canadian photographer interested in the built environment and the societies that are shaped by those environments. Born in Amsterdam (1986) he was raised on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, completed his undergraduate education at UBC in Vancouver, and in 2012 received a Masters of Fine Art in Photography, Video & Related Media at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. His undergraduate degree in the interdisciplinary practices of geography, art history, and psychology formed the basis for his interest in architecture and the communities living in that architecture. Koopmans is primarily drawn to photographing surreal structures in our world’s megacities and urban landscapes. Formal qualities in their geometry, repetition, and saturation help him illustrate what he terms ‘the poetry of form in interesting locations.’ In essence, his work documents the points of intersection where the natural and manmade converge. He credits his upbringing on Canada’s rugged West Coast, where distances and vistas are vast, as to why he often photographs from a removed perspective, embracing a large sense of scale. Founded in 2015 Girls on Their Way Home (GOTWH) is a studio for art direction & design based in Copenhagen run by art director Kevin Pfaff. Kevins main focus is on art direction, set design and production of photo shoots for fashion brands and magazines as well as brand identity, editorial and graphic design within the field of fashion and culture. Other work has included exhibition and textile design. Recent clients have included brands and magazines like: Maria Black Jewellery, Lehho, Å-Journal and Kinfolk Magazine, just to name a few. Reference comes from a submersion of multiple cultures, which enables a refined perspective when considering vital aesthetic choices. GOTWH are able to maintain relationships with international clients, and are currently consulting with brands in Japan, Denmark, and the UK.

Carla Andrade is a Spanish Visual Artist with a Degree in Audio-visual Studies and Philosophy. She is currently studying a M.A. in Artist’s Film & Moving Image at Goldsmiths University in London. She carried out Artist Residencies in Iceland, Sweden, Nepal, Chile, and Paris, among others. Her work was exhibited at the MAC in A Coruña, Colegio de España in Paris, Trinta Gallery in Santiago de Compostela, Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, MARCO of Vigo, 104 in Paris, etc; and at Film and Photography Festivals such as IFFR, Zinebi, Jihlava, Filmadrid, L’Alternativa, Curtocircuito, Porto/Post/Doc, PhotoEspaña or Mois de la Photo off.

Janet Hansen is a designer at New York book publisher Alfred A. Knopf. She also works with clients including New Directions, The New Yorker, and the New York Times. She currently lives in a little old craftsman home in Montclair, New Jersey with her husband and two whippets.

Jerry Stifelman directs his flmmaking collective, CreatoDestructo Imagery and is a freelance writer and creative director for commercial brands that stand for something. He is an authenticity junkie, describing himself as “drawn to pretty much anything that comes a deep and true place, whether it's funny, ugly, beautiful or ferce.” His commercial work frequently takes him to large cities in other countries, but he loves his little home city of Carrboro, which he describes as “the funkier, gritter, hippier ( and hipper), less posh neighboring town to Chapel Hill, home of the University of North Carolina. It's an easy place to live, easy to bike everywhere, near the airport, and has loads of culture and the sense of optimism that comes from lots of students at the phase in life where all roads are open and anything is possible. It's also a place of great style — lots of people expressing themselves without listening to anyone else. It's also an easy ride to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the beaches.”

Teguh Hartanto and Su Tomesen are visual artists based in Jogjakarta. Teguh's mainly works with the media painting and screen printing but he also does street art with graffiti and stencil. He works spontaneously; the outcome is unpredictable and surprising. For him, the process is more important than the result. Su's work consists of videos, photographs and installations, and she travels a lot. Working in the context of a residence abroad or on location is a means of putting her (European) position, ideas and being into discussion. She has been artist-in-residence in Belgrade, Amman and Johannesburg, and worked for an international video art project in Port-au-Prince, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
