“You can taste the love” sounds like a cliché until you actually taste it and realize you are poor cynical human being who has never been to Alicia’s tamale stand! Especially on foggy days, these lovingly wrapped warm packages of deliciousness are indispensable.

Oberlin is one of the best examples of Providence's fantastic dining scene—expect a wide range of excellent lesser-known, sustainably caught local fish like tautog, butterfish and bluefish, as well as a wide range of other regionally-inspired dishes like fresh pasta, homemade sourdough, and roasted local veg. The place has a real neighborhood vibe that makes you want to stay for hours, which is definitely helped by the exceptional wine list and desserts (specifically: the Basque cheesecake).

The Sanzhi UFO houses were abandoned buildings in Sanzhi District, the place described as a ghost town and were torn down by the government in late 2008. I was fortune to visit there once with my uni friends in time. One of the most surreal place I have ever been... what a shame the buildings are all gone now.

Jiggers in Ghent, Belgium is a quirky artist bar that creates a sense of secretiveness and curious ambiance.

I’m a big fan of libraries (tons of books, free to take out, I mean what’s not to love?) and even though you can’t actually take out any books at the big beautiful library in Midtown – it’s still worth a visit. I love walking around in the big halls, the architecture is so beautiful and there’s always small exhibitions or things to see. Don’t forget to look up when entering the main reading-hall. Feels like book-heaven!

The Corinth Canal is a man-made waterway located in Greece that connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow isthmus that separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece, and is approximately 6.4 kilometers long. The idea for the Corinth Canal dates back to ancient times, when various rulers and engineers proposed the construction of a canal to allow ships to avoid the long and treacherous journey around the Peloponnese peninsula. However, it was not until the late 19th century that the canal was actually built. Construction of the Corinth Canal began in 1881, and was completed in 1893. The canal is approximately 23 meters wide at the surface and 8 meters deep, and can accommodate ships up to 21 meters wide and 5.5 meters draft. It is a popular destination for tourists, who can watch ships passing through the narrow canal from the safety of the bridge or from boats that offer tours of the canal. The Corinth Canal is also an important transportation route for commercial ships, as it significantly reduces the travel time between the Ionian and Aegean seas. However, its narrow size and steep cliffs make it challenging to navigate, and it is not always accessible to larger vessels. Overall, the Corinth Canal is an impressive engineering feat and an important transportation and tourist attraction in Greece.

I have just recently finished a project installing a drawing for artist Alan Johnston onto the ceiling of the Tate Britain. The experience, although being somewhat taxing on peoples health with long hours and difficult working conditions was fantastic. The mediative and mind altering drawing practice that Alan has created combined with the enthusiasm of a team of talented individuals has resulted in what can be considered a great work of art. It will be open to the public later this year. 

Nameless pink shop run by a talkative redheaded Piaf who handpicks and sells allsorts of things from the 1950s - 70s - furniture, clothes, sunglasses, lamps. Unpretentious and priced correctly.

Despite their name visiting Stupido Shop is one of the smartest moves any music lover can make in Helsinki. Their record selection includes the hottest new LPs but there’s room for appreciation for the old classics too. These guys know their business.
