Milan / Museum

An architectural gem: immersed in an ample private garden with a swimming pool and a tennis court and set in the center of Milan, the Necchi Campiglio Villa was completed by the architect Piero Portaluppi in 1935. Commissioning the structure was the Necchi Campiglio family, part of the rich and elegant industrial middle class of Milan in the 1930s. The disposition of the interior spaces corresponds to the traditional layout of noble homes: the daytime areas on the ground floor, the bedrooms on the first floor, the service rooms in the areas under the roof, and the den as well as the changing rooms and the bathrooms for the pool in the basement. The Necchi Campiglio family wanted above all to distance themselves from the traditions of their day, and planned ample areas dedicated to the reception of guests and to the social whirl: the dining room, the smoking room, the library and the grand salon. Right after WWII, areas of the villa underwent changes effected by the architect Tomaso Buzzi, who sweetened the linearity of Portaluppi’s style, and inserted aspects inspired of the 18th century, especially those in the style of Louis the 15th of France.

Another beautiful area to go ski touring with a breathtaking view. The elevation is high up so you'll e guaranteed snow. The skiing is varied with more mellow or steeper so make sure to read the bulletin before getting out in the outback.

San Jose / Shop

Manley’s has good donuts, the couple that run the shop are real nice, it’s open until mid-afternoon, and it’s very low key. You can get a crumb donut, a cup of coffee, then sit and let your mind clear on a Sunday morning if you wanted. It’s also soothing to watch all of the old people come in, read their newspaper, and grumble to themselves.

Since an early stage, Giacomo felt interested in the visual perception of the volumes, light, transparencies, light materials, and how the eye treats the mind with a thoughtful use of them. Bachelor in Product Design and a Master’s degree in Architecture provided him all the technical aspects of the use of strengths, understanding of materials and 3D modelling. Once has the technical knowledge and the convince of creating art, the material chose was the step to follow. The keenness of using a simple material whit shining properties became stronger thus after an examination of different materials the decision was to use brass and steel wire. In addition, the concept of using something cheap to create something precious is very attractive. Creating a net of sewed wire with specific mental patrons and the using the strengths, making reinforcement to create shapes and curvatures lead final sculptures and models. The process followed during the last four years has been an autodidactic process of discovering how the weight, the tensions and the structure of the net can get transformed into an art piece.
