From Wally's cafe to Wall.E to a green wall. When you arrive in NYC you immediately mention a difference in concentration when it comes to conversations. Iphone's go always before listening to people. There is nothing to do anything about this anymore but it is a little fact. I Like to cycle and walk around in the neighborhood and mention this beautiful wall with the 2 oval light spots arisen on it. This magical light spots are constantly popp'n up on all different walls in NYC. Open your eyes: Let's stare at the wall. Just as long as something starts happening.

One of the best places in the world to see left field, experimental and creative new music which sits outside the realm of the mainstream. It should be cherished. I wish i went more often...Some highlights of mine include Midori Takada and Acid Mothers Temple.

La Boite à Photos is located in the heart of the old town, on a charming cobbled street. This is obviously a must for me, because there are all kinds of 35mm and instant films available for sale, but also second-hand Polaroid cameras and lomographic cameras. The store owners are themselves collectors and invested in the artistic Nancy's life, having organized a great photos contest last spring.

It only makes sense to find some action near the train station and this place is really on the edge. It’s usually packed with pleasure seekers dancing to a wide variety of music and hosts events ranging from hip-hop to disco to balkan music and really anything you can dance to. Don’t forget to check-in with the giant statue of Tony Soprano outside.

Living in stockholm. I started my career by assisting many of Swedens top photographers. In the beginning I was intrigued by fashion but over the years my course has changed towards a new more personal photography, holding a slower, more thoughtfull expression. I try to tell subtle stories that has a personal connection. My objects are landscapes, architecture and environmental portraits, often with a calm melancholy where the human influence on our surrounding is an important subject. I currently work for magazines and advertising clients along with my personal projects.

Ryan Koopmans (BA, MFA) is a Dutch Canadian photographer interested in the built environment and the societies that are shaped by those environments. Born in Amsterdam (1986) he was raised on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, completed his undergraduate education at UBC in Vancouver, and in 2012 received a Masters of Fine Art in Photography, Video & Related Media at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. His undergraduate degree in the interdisciplinary practices of geography, art history, and psychology formed the basis for his interest in architecture and the communities living in that architecture. Koopmans is primarily drawn to photographing surreal structures in our world’s megacities and urban landscapes. Formal qualities in their geometry, repetition, and saturation help him illustrate what he terms ‘the poetry of form in interesting locations.’ In essence, his work documents the points of intersection where the natural and manmade converge. He credits his upbringing on Canada’s rugged West Coast, where distances and vistas are vast, as to why he often photographs from a removed perspective, embracing a large sense of scale. Currently based in Stockholm, Sweden, the majority of the year Koopmans travels around the world for both personal and assigned photography & video projects. Please see www.sirenforever.com for his advertising photography.
