Murals! where? everywhere! walls, streets, signs, windows. keep your eyes peeled. I walk a lot in San Francisco and always seem to find new murals in the least expected places. They are a constant source of inspiration, and make me wish I could paint worth a damn.

Another beautiful area to go ski touring with a breathtaking view. The elevation is high up so you'll e guaranteed snow. The skiing is varied with more mellow or steeper so make sure to read the bulletin before getting out in the outback.

This place makes my heart sing. I’m so happy it’s only 2 blocks away. This teeny tiny little Cuban restaurant/bar is always warm, welcoming, and vibrating with visual over-stimuli. Surreal toy sculptures cover every square inch, and I always find something I’ve never seen before while slurping down my sangria.

Artengine is a local arts group that produces technologically based presentations. As part of their Electric Fields program, I recently attended Swim Sound – a sound performance at a municipal pool. A percussionist played on a floating platform, while a knob twiddler tweaked and tweezed the inputs coming from drum mics and a couple underwater mics. Too fun with an encore performance possibly happening in the spring!

One of the best reasons to live in Denver, is the proximity to the Rocky Mountains. My favorite view is from the balcony of our previous residence located in Denver's Golden Triangle. With an unobstructed view of Mt Evans and the foothills, it doesn't get much better. Not much symbolizes the American West more than mountains, and with Denver located a short drive from world class mountain biking, skiing, and hiking, the views of the mountains are a daily reminder of why you live here.

Best Udon in London, with an exceptional specials board. The head chef Shuko Oda opened the first restaurant in Soho 11 years ago, and they now have restaurants in the City and on Broadway market. Great for kids, our son loves the Mackerel udon.

Zürich seemed to have exceptional pancakes. Yum. One place we sampled more of these fluffy goodies was in Café Lang – a beautiful haven of dark wood and tiles. It was also one of the places open on a Sunday morning which was extremely helpful. For this reason (plus the fact that its lovely) meant that it was pretty busy on a Sunday morning. We waited at the coffee bar with more espressos while we waited for a table. It might be an idea to book if you decide to go. I loved it here. The staff were really friendly, the food was delicious and they had super-swank toilets – which is always a bonus in my book.

It may see like I have an affinity for dingy looking doorways leading to amazing spots, but it just so happens that another of the best bars in Vancouver is hidden behind such an entrance. The Narrow plays great music ranging from heavy metal, to hard rock, classic rock, grunge, 70’s soul and everything in between. The atmosphere is awesome. It is small, dark, VERY loud (due to the music), and the red walls are adorned by rows of deer antlers a glowing neon cross. It has a massive liquor selection too.

Adeline de Monseignat (b. 1987) is a sculptor who lives and works between London and Mexico City. Her work focuses on the life within inanimate entities, through the study of mythology, symbolism, anthropomorphism and the uncanny. Recurrent motifs include the sphere, the seed, the wheel and the ladder that act as universal symbols for the cycles of birth, life and death. By contrasting natural materials such as marble, fur , sand and soil with manufactured ones such as glass, steel and digital media, she creates a dialogue between the natural and the man-made. Adeline holds a BA in Language and Culture, UCL (2009), a Foundation Diploma, Slade School of Fine Art (2010) and an MA in Fine Arts, City and Guilds of London Art School (2011). Her work has been shown worldwide in galleries and institutions such as Masa Galeria, Ronchini Gallery, Nahmad Projects, Blain Southern, Leila Heller, Victoria Miro, Cob Gallery, Totah, Kandlhofer, Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer, Saatchi Gallery, Freud Museum, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Royal Society of Sculptors, Museo Federico Silva, Museo de Geologia, Exeter Phoenix, and in art fairs including Zona Maco, London Global Art Fair, Art Brussels, Salon Acme, Art Moscow and Arte Fiera Bologna. Residencies include Casa Wabi, Mexico, Villa Lena, Italy, Fibra, Colombia, Hogchester Arts, UK and the Land Art Road Trip, USA.
