The Barbican is worth visiting for it's brutalist architecture alone. The concert programming is really diverse; it's home to the BBC Syphony Orchestra, but you'll also find bands like the Dirty Projectors and the National amongst the classical and contemporary composer line up. Plenty of art, dance and theatre too, however, the Conservatory is the real gem that's not to be missed.

The Lit & Phil is a library pretty much unmodernised since it was first built in 1825. It has a wonderful reading room and a tunnel between it and the equally stunning Mining Institute next door. Many great speakers and thinkers have past through these doors including amongst many others John Betjeman & Oscar Wilde. Maybe some of that greatness will rub off on me if I spend enough time amongst the dusty books....

While creating, the process of making is all that matters and directs the final shape of the art work which can be different from its initial concept.  This fits in his current ceramic works, which he combines with technical materials and garbage. Maas is also a photographer, illustrator and creator of the world's first toon-model 'Babelle'
