There's nothing more revigorating during the dark winter days than spending a couple of hours in a sauna. Germans have mastered the art of sauna and you can find amazing pieces of architecture in the public swimming pools (Stadtbad). I find Stadtbad Neukölln very peculiar in its neoclassic architecture and it's definitely a wallet-friendly option to enjoy some sauna time there. Be prepared to be naked in front of man and woman!

Of all the many museums in New York, this one is the most striking to me because of the unique experience you have while viewing the art. This Frank Lloyd Wright building integrates art with architecture in a way that makes it unique to this city. No matter where you are standing you get an incredible, extremely thought out detail of his work and the exhibited work.

Amazingly warm balearic vibes on the main floor with a classic, dark and minimal NYC club in the basement, Balearica is run by a team of music obsessed Irish friends who bring nothing but love to North Williamsburg. The music is always on point and the energy is inclusive and uplifting.

This place is really popular, and for good reason. Their cuts of meat are on point, and who doesn't love troughs of cheesy corn and steamed eggs? Definitely order a lunch box, and if you want to avoid the long wait, go either super early around or really late. They're open from 11:30a to 1:30a.

There has been an increasing number of small galleries and artist-run spaces emerging in Edinburgh recently. Superclub is one that definitely stands out. It's housed in an old garage/tyre depot that has been converted into a gallery upstairs and studio spaces down below. They put on exhibitions, bands, films and all sorts of other fun stuff. It’s a really exciting place. My studio is here.

The Viaduct is one of those big pieces of architecture that you notice from afar and ignore close up. So get close for a major neck craning and you'll get that “how the hell did they ever build this…” feeling. When I look up I get vertigo and I doubt the strength of those spindly looking redbrick supports. Preston Road and Beaconsfield Road are good places to look around, and afterwards you can pop into the nearby Signalman pub.

The Montreal metro opened in 1966, right before the city hosted the world expo in 1967. The metro system is one of the most visible legacies of this time, filled with Modernist architecture and design. The trains are on big rubber tires and it's warm in the winter.

Clo’e Floirat is an author and illustrator. She began her rigorous training in New York, fleetingly leaving France to then attend the Design Academies of Reims and Eindhoven, Netherlands. This led her to Berlin, working with architects specializing in art spaces for another five years. From working with Robert Wilson as well as Rufus Wainwright in New York for several years, her interests have recently culminated in her graduation from the new master in Critical Writing in Art at the Royal College of Art, London. She has become known for her signature drawings - a combination of drawing and writing with a critical orientation, into what she calls drawing Crit’writing - that cast a critical, humorous and refreshing look on the world of contemporary art. I am an illustrator and story-teller currently based in Bristol, UK.  "Jayde Perkin is a thoughtful storyteller who uses paint not just to elevate or decorate a story, but to inject it with a personal sense of emotion and feeling. Many contemporary illustrations pop or punch with colour, but Perkin does something else: she creates a visual dialogue with the words of an author, adding not just a different perspective to a text, but infusing it with an intense atmosphere of personal expression." - AIGA Eye On Design
