If you're ever in Manchester and stuck for art materials or a birthday card or fancy doing some laser cutter or risograph printing then Fred Aldous is the place for you. The shop has been open since 1886 with a man called Fred — a man with a bright idea and a cracking beard — decided to open a shop selling cane for baskets to carry cotton. Craft and community are at the very heart of the business. Look out for their amazing window displays designed by their amazing in-house team or local designers and makers.

Comfortable bar where when the atmosphere is right can turn into a real party place. As all other bars and clubs in Bergen it shuts at 2.30 in the morning - too early I think.

After a day of skiing in Steamboat resort or out in the surrounding backcountry, take the car or a shuttle bus to the natural hot springs just outside Steamboat downtown. It’s a gorgeous and incredibly relaxing outdoor natural spa where you can bath in differently heated pools. Jump in between the hot pools and the cold river for some extra blood circulations. They also provide massage and you can stay over night at the springs. However, I recommend staying in downtown or by the ski resort and go up to this beautiful spot for a couple of hours in the afternoon or evening. I went there during winter and I’m sure it’s as amazing during the rest of the year.

It's a small bookshop to be stuck forever. Here you can find the most beautiful collection of art/photography/architecture/fashion/food books and magazines, not to count it's just a walk distance to diverse galleries around the neighborhood.

Good, progressive, solid, forward-thinking place. And run by the warmest, most intelligent and inspiring people to be around. Always a humble, fulfilled visit. And whilst in the area, best to visit next door to Hannah Barry's gallery for more wonderful work.

Home to an incredibly programmed slate of classic, cult, and indie films, this little spot on Fairfax is a cinema-buff's paradise. Parking is a bit miserable, so park for free at Canter's Deli. Put a Hot Pastrami on Rye with Matzo Ball Soup down your neck, then just walk a couple blocks to the theater. Trust me, you'll need to walk a bit after that meal anyway. I've seen a number of special events here, including a screening of Fantastic Planet with sound and dialogue entirely performed by a live experimental orchestra, which made my list of top movie-going experiences ever! There's also a patio out back for intermissions, post-film receptions, barbecues and occasional outdoor-screenings where you can crack open an ice cold PBR or Tecate! My favourite place to have a great cup of coffee. CROOKED NOSE & COFFEE STORIES are coffee enthusiasts and coffee product creators based in Vilnius. At their coffee house they freshly roast micro batches of different world beans and invite to taste them with various tools in their brew bar.
