Montevideo / Other

Flowers in September is one of the most beautiful sensations I have in Montevideo. I love the atmosphere...near the beach or in the parks... the wind flowing and mixing the colors... reds, yellows, blues. This is the most inspiring moment for me in the city and my photography integrating subjects with nature is all I do in my work....

Dubai / Beach

I rate the kite surfing beach by far the best public beach in Dubai, as it has lots of facilities around including volleyball nets, football AstroTurf, bathrooms, kite surfing equipment, etc. It has a really large span of beach and not much construction around, which is rare for the city.

Antwerp / Cafe

Right next to the art academy of Antwerp, this small café is a terrific place to sit down and enjoy the view of people passing by. Their coffee is very good and they also have a variety of ways to prepare it, if you're into that stuff.

Berlin / Restaurant

It is a fine dessert dining. Unique full-on experience with dessert (no industrial sugar is used) course menu and pairing drinks. No wonder they have got a Michelin star!

Barcelona / Restaurant

Els Quatre Gats is a café in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain that famously became a popular meeting place for famous artists throughout the modernist period in Catalonia.

New York / Art

I could include a separate location for every room at the Met. Each visit is a year's worth of Art-absorbing.

London / Place

I've had a love affair with the BT Tower for some time now. Unfortunately entrance to the public was shut in 1980, but earlier this year I was invited up to the top, where the revolving restaurant once stood. The views were absolutely breath taking.

London / Restaurant

Wonderful place for an indulgent afternoon tea. My favourite room is the millennial pink bathed Gallery room where the walls are covered in a sea of original David Shrigley art. The bathrooms feature beautifully designed individual egg-like pods and there's even a waiter whose sole focus is to serve you caviar.

Brighton / Pub

I dont like flash bars and pubs. I like committed boozers where you might get away with falling over or being a bit cheeky. This is my favourite pub in Brighton called the Heart and Hand. The juke box is full of some superb 45s inc The Who's Mary Anne with the Shaky Hands, Love's a House is not a Motel and Buffalo Springfield's I am a Child. The ales not bad and the bar staff are usually very nice.

Lecce / Architecture

View from my studio window in south Italy. But you can dream to be somewhere in between Algeria and Morocco. I face every day a different sunset on the Duomo bell town, city centre.

Vancouver / Gallery

Occupying the historical building of a former B.C Electric Railway terminal, Centre A's gallery space is also located in one Vancouver's oldest and most diverse neighbourhoods-between Gastown and Chinatown. Focusing on their mandate to provide a platform for contemporary Asian Art, Centre A is a great space to explore and visit.

Oxford / Shop

The best thing I have ever discovered. The Sue Ryder sale in Nettlebed takes place in the grounds of a manor house and has everything you could ever dream buying for a bargain price. What’s more all the money goes to charity.

Regarding the form, it is the experimental play with a reduced stylistic idiom, made with different tools, materials and techniques, what is exciting for me. Finally I like to create abstracted worlds which give the viewer, and also myself during the artistic process, the freedom to develop our own thoughts and imaginations and to discover the new.“
