A Mesa is an art gallery, founded by four women, who define it as a resistant space. It is located in the colorful Morro da Conceição, in front of a small square where talks and events are held in parallel with exhibitions, gathering local inhabitants and visitors.

There are so many parks and woods and mountains in and around Vancouver, but for some reason this place just works for me - maybe there is less of a fear of being eaten by a bear or bugs?

Copenhagen / Museum

When in need of some inspiration The Design Museum is an obvious choice living in Copenhagen. What is not that well known to the visitors is that the Design Museum has a great poster collection not open to the general public. If you plan your visit and make an agreement with the Museum beforehand, you will be able to visit the collection archived in the attic above the Museums’ library (which is also a must-see, but expect to be ‘shushed’). The Design Museum has since its founding in the 1890s collected posters, and the collection documents commercial, cultural, and political developments in poster history both in Denmark and around the world, from the boom in posters in the 1800s to today. And all of the stars of poster history are represented. The curator of the department will be able to find posters relevant to the subject you are interested in, and is very knowledgeable of both printing techniques and cultural history.

Really great vibes and a classic take on American cuisine. Great place to split a basket of mozzarella sticks & have a dirty martini. The burger and Wedge salad are delicious and on Sunday's the Chicken Parm special keeps those Monday blues away just a little bit longer.

Seattle / Park

Located in the Copycat Building in Baltimore's Station North area, the Soft House is a sanctuary for soft music and comfortable cultural experiences. The Soft House is one of the best places in Baltimore to experience live music, experimental dance, and theater performances.

Lilli Waters was born in 1983 in Armidale, NSW. Fascinated with a world of fantasy rich with ethereal themes, Water's work is a mix of both digital and analogue photography using heavy layering processes to create fantastical and somewhat unsettling moods. In her portraits she exposes an enigmatic sense of her past and surrounding environment, mixing brutal realism and chaotic settings which resists the serene and awkward beauty of her subjects. Waters has held several solo exhibitions, including the World Trade Centre in Melbourne of survivors from the Black Saturday bush fires, also a selection of works for a group exhibition at Brick Lane gallery in London towards the end of this year. Some of her career highlights include being a Finalist in the Head On Portrait Prize 2013, Highly Commended in the Moran Prize in 2012 and Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards in 2012 & 2013. Waters dedicated her 'She Raw' photographic project to preventing violence against women, in launching the She Raw book she raised over $1000 for the White Ribbon Foundation in 2012. Waters is currently living and working in Brunswick, Melbourne.
