Entering Santa Fe, Mexico City. Santa Fe is one of Mexico City's major business districts, located in the west part of the city, consisting of countless high-rise buildings that tower over Latin America's largest shopping mall. Built over existing landfills, several layers of sand was poured over millions of tons of garbage before constructions began. Many original residents of the outlying suburbs were evicted and forced to the outskirts seen here.

Looking for a place to relax and rewind in Sicily? Then, this is the place for you. Diamond Resort is a 5-star hotel situated just between the vibrant beach town Giardini-Naxos and the picturesque tourist resort Taormina. Here, you can go for a swim in any of the 2 outdoor spa swimming pools, practicing your swing at the pitch golf court, go for a workout at the indoor gym, spoil yourself with spa treatments, enjoy some seriously great Aperol Spritz cocktails... yea, you name it. The rooms are air conditioned and clean with fluffy beds. Once you walk in through the gates to this resort, you immediately relax. The only downside is the food at the hotel. It's nothing special at all and extremely expensive. Luckily enough, there are local Sicilian restaurants just around the corner by the beach walk, so you're better of strolling down the street and get yourself some local Italian food instead for a much more reasonable price. It's just a short walk down to the beach walk and the hotel has a private beach spot. However, the beach is better in the town of Giardini-Naxos, so I preferred the swimming pool. The hotel is surrounded by a breathtaking view with the vulcano mountains facing one side and the ocean the other. After spending a few days at this resort, I felt like a new person.

I love how this Vietnamese restaurant has decided to keep the interior and exterior of the Greek restaurant that was there before it. Also: good food for a reasonable price.

Artengine is a local arts group that produces technologically based presentations. As part of their Electric Fields program, I recently attended Swim Sound – a sound performance at a municipal pool. A percussionist played on a floating platform, while a knob twiddler tweaked and tweezed the inputs coming from drum mics and a couple underwater mics. Too fun with an encore performance possibly happening in the spring!

I have been getting burgers here since I first moved to NYC. I think it is 1000 years old or something like that. Only two types of burgers, with or without bacon. I like easy decisions and this place is full of them. There is usually a line to be seated, but it always seems to go fast with $2.50 mugs of McSorley's. It's also at this strange vortex in the west village where 4th street and 12th street cross. Maybe that's why the line never takes too long and everything is so cheap.

Contemporary, yet timeless. Minimal, yet warm. Graphic, yet calm. Calculated, yet intuitive. The characteristics defining the work of interior architect Frederic Kielemoes, seem to be an interplay between opposites. Yet, his designs are pleasant, balanced spaces with a richness in materials, colours and detailing. His portfolio has a strong focus on residential interiors, but also includes exhibition stand designs for respected brands. Frederic is a collector and long-standing admirer of Belgian Geometric Abstract Art, with key artists such as Gilbert Decock and Marc Verstockt. In their formal language, basic shapes such as the circle and the square are strongly present. Frederic's designs often start with a similar sensibility, before they get sculpted into refined, threedimensional environments.  His choice to work in a modest office with one other interior architect is a deliberate one. Frederic prefers to work in close contact with his clients on the one hand, and the contractors and craftsmen on the other. To hone his knowledge, he can regularly be found on site and in workshops. "My aim is to understand the limits as well as the endless possiblities of materials and techniques, to come to the most elegant solutions."
