The Arter gallery is one of the galleries that I like to frequent the most. The building was renovated in the past few years and has four floors of exhibition space. It always features the leading national artists and introduces contemporary international artists to the city.

The Polish Institute Düsseldorf is one of many Polish Institutes worldwide which were established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. It aims to promote the cultural relationships between Poland and Germany using the presentation of Polish art, cinema, theatre, music, and literature and to intensify the mutual exchange of history, politics, education and society. The Polish Institute Düsseldorf was founded in 1993. It is active not only in North-Rhine Westphalia but also in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hessen and Saarland. Apart from its exhibitions, seminars, workshops, lectures and discussions in its impressive location at Düsseldorf’s Altstadt (Old Town), the Polish Institute takes part in numerous projects of German museums, galleries and universities. It frames programs of theatres, cultural festivals, cinemas and concert halls and organizes study tours and educational and youth projects.

Nameless pink shop run by a talkative redheaded Piaf who handpicks and sells allsorts of things from the 1950s - 70s - furniture, clothes, sunglasses, lamps. Unpretentious and priced correctly.

CAP Beauty has reached a cult-like status amongst New Yorkers who try to live their lives a little more like Gwyneth Paltrow, and a little less like Lindsay Lohan circa 2007. But you don’t have to be a health nut to appreciate the natural beauty store’s mission to bring a carefully selected range of products and brands that are actually kind to our bodies to consumers.

Westerns Laundry is a restaurant and wine bar (natural wine) in a converted laundrette that does brilliant small plates (focus on seafood).

Audiophile paradise. Boasting one of the coolest looking and beautifully crafted sound-systems I've ever seen. More listening bar than club, it has a low key vibe with a diverse roaster of talented DJ's spinning an eclectic mix of tunes and full albums.

This place has the best handpicked natural wines and great, great food. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. You can easily sit here for hours, have a bite once in a while and try great wines. An absolute must to visit.

An awesome place that's a combination gas station, convenience store and countrystyle gourmet restaurant – they even have a biodiesel pump stocked with diesel made from recycled restaurant fry fat and a deep wine selection.

Also the Queens back garden, these beautiful grounds are great for a Sunday stroll to see the pelicans or to feed the squirrels. Duck Island Cottage is worth a look too, a idyllic little cottage situated in the grounds which was specially built as the bird keepers home.

After his guitar class, I would ride the 1 train down and meet him for a movie. That was years ago. Now I continue to come, sometimes alone. It’s one thing I enjoy doing by myself: going to the movies to see independent films that are oftentimes bizarre and somewhat depressing, but I like it all the same.

The Rose Bowl happens in Pasadena. The Flea Market is only once a month, its usually the second Sunday of the month. Its a great place to find vintage clothes, antiques and rare treasures. I once found an amazing David Hamilton book that I bought for $15 when it was worth $500.

Barcelona is also amazing because of it's surroundings in winter I love going to the mountain, it's just one hour and a half drive and in summer to the beach of course.
