Amsterdam / Museum

It's a very small museum in the Hermitage about art made by outsiders. It's also known as 'Art Brut', a name given to it in 1972 by French artist Jean Dubuffet. It simply means that it is art made by people that don't fit in the normal life structure that humans suppose to have. Which can mean that the art is made by people who are in jail, who are ill, have a mental dissability or another way of not fitting into the community. The exhibitions are quite small, so it takes you just around an hour. And the hermitage has a nice canal view.

London / Park

Nice old trees, lots of space, good for walking, running, hanging out with your kids and most of all, the perfect place to lie in the grass and chill out.

Leeds / Park

This skatepark is perfect! It has great atmosphere and is great location for a skate park. It is like a second home to a lot of skaters around Leeds. You will always see skaters passing through who are always up for a chat and a skate.

Amsterdam / Market

I love how small this place is, but it offers such amazing quality in cheeses, meats, wines, bread etc. You can also have lunch here. Definitely worth picking up fresh food here!

Oslo / Architecture

The City Hall ( Rådhuset ) is my favorite building in Oslo, it was designed by Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson and completed in 1950. I love the main hall with its 21 meter high ceilings, and wall paintings by Norwegian artists Henrik Sørensen og Alf Rolfsen.

Copenhagen / Beach

As the summer is my favorite time of the year and that the beach is just 15 min bikeride away, I recommend Amager strand. Full of people usually though, but even so it gives a bit of an exotic touch to such a scandinavian city with the sea and the bright sand in the hot summer days.

Frankfurt / Bar

A kind of Black. You have a great view from inside to outside through the large window.

San Francisco / Place

At the midpoint of the Filbert steps, near tourist favourite Coit Tower, The Malloch is a streamline Moderne gem built in 1937. I discovered it after watching Dark Passage, a 1947 Bogart and Bacall film noir. Lauren Bacall's character lives on the third floor and Bogey holes up there. A Deco beauty cruising towards the Bay. It has the coolest lift ever.

New York / Park

This is a great park, from free concerts to summer to the Brooklyn flea markets over the weekend or take the ferry across the river. Rain or shine I never get sick of that view.

Nashville / Restaurant

Wonderful South Indian cuisine. All vegetarian and vegan and gf friendly. Definitely try the Mysore coffee as well.

Born in 1988 in Cologne/Germany Hugo Hoppmann is a graphic designer and art director who graduated from ECAL in Lausanne/Switzerland in summer 2011. Alongside his studies he interned at Bureau Mirko Borsche, worked for Berlin-based culture magazine 032c and found his own publication Better Mjstakes. After a powerful one-year stint at Meiré und Meiré (working full-time on projects such as Kenzo, Andy Warhol's Interview magazine, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, 032c, brandeins) he has now returned to independency, traveling the world in pursuit for new adventures.

In my role at O Street I'm usually found spinning multiple plates, keeping projects running efficiently and getting stuck in with hands-on design. Having graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, I've been in Glasgow for over eight years where I've worked on everything from brand identities to packaging systems, merchandise to art direction, strategic workshops to creative direction. Along the way I've co-hosted Ladies Wine and Design Glasgow and helped to run our O Street event series Beertimes, and generally love a social get together. Peter Nencini came to London in 1992, to study at the Royal College of Art. Aside from a three-year interlude working in Brussels, he stayed put. A designer and educator, he has worked across print and television for clients such as the New York Times and the BBC. More recently, he has gravitated towards editioned and exhibited work in ceramic, fabric, wood and metal — with a bonding interest in the space between typographic and figurative form.
