Pullman is the place to share very good food with friends until very late... the wine card is just fantastic! Full of discoveries... oxidative wines (Jura and other countries), orange wines and private importation from the Vesuvius in Italy or even from the Canary Islands... CRAZY!!!

One of the few professional hardware stores in the city centre of Amsterdam with a great knowledgable staff. Whatever you’re building problem, they have the answer for you, both in advice and in material solutions. I just really love hanging out there. For me it’s one of the best places to get inspiration from. When building a set, I usually go there with a vague idea of what I want to make and then fill in the details by looking at the materials they have.

The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient theater located on the southern slope of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. It is named after Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, fertility, and theater, and it was the site of the ancient Athenian drama festivals. The Theatre of Dionysus was built in the 6th century BC, and it underwent several renovations and expansions over the centuries. At its peak, it could seat up to 17,000 spectators, and it was considered one of the most important theaters in the ancient world. The theater was the birthplace of Greek drama, and it hosted many famous plays by the great playwrights of the time, including Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides. It was also the site of the first dramatic competitions, which were held in honor of Dionysus and involved the performance of three tragedies and one satyr play. Today, the Theatre of Dionysus is a popular tourist attraction in Athens. Although much of the original structure has been lost to time, visitors can still see the remains of the stage, the orchestra pit, and some of the seating areas. The theater is also used for performances and events during the Athens Festival, which takes place every summer.

XXXI (‘Thirty-One’) is ❶ a mixed-use community space for designers (and others) to exhibit, teach, and discuss self-initiated work; ❷ a shared studio space; ❸ a residency for designers; and ❹ an online (and sometimes physical) store. It purposefully lives outside (or against) the constraints of the city it exists in and traditional commercial practice to ask what design can do when its goal is not money.

This neighborhood theater is one of the oldest movie houses in the U.S. It opened up in 1915. I love to see movies here, especially screenings put on by Cinema Project. They are a collectively run, non-profit that screens amazing avant-garde films from the past and present.

Opened in 2011 by the people at Magnum Photo Agency (their Paris bureau is a few streets away), Le Bal is an institutional exhibition space dedicated to the documentary image. For the most part that means lots of photography exhibits but they like to mix up the shows with videos and especially books. They hold conferences with a great line-up of guest speakers and screen documentaries and other films at the nearby Cinéma de Cinéastes. Be sure to check out the bookshop where you can browse through their connoisseur’s collection of high-end photo books and limited edition zines. Le Bal Café is a great place to meet friends for a quick drink or sit down and taste Anna and Alice’s Anglo-French cuisine. And if you’re wondering why it’s called Le Bal, the space was once a dance hall cum brothel in the roaring ‘20s.

After long hours at Reina Sofia museum time for going to Outer Space. It's called NuBel and it makes you wonderfully dizzy. Or, better, go there just before the museum - drink some wine and go to admire Guernica in 3D.

In 1963, the Italian-born sculptor Costantino Nivola filled a playground that covers an entire city block with avant-garde abstractions. In the middle of an Upper Manhattan housing project, there are cuboid cutouts sculpted in cement, a fountain made with two diamond-shaped boulders, concrete play horses, and a sand-casted relief carved high into a wall. In the northeast corner, a matriarchal figure known as “The Nanny” rises from the ground. The artist’s sculptures were built in an era when urban development incorporated art in its effort to uplift communities and express democratic ideals. “A work designed for a public space is less a work of art than a civic act,” Nivola once said. “It concerns the ways in which we live together, and in which we influence each other.”

Probably the cosiest place in town! Warm 'Berlin style' wallpapered living room build around a half circle bar. They host poetry, bingo & acoustic evenings in the front room, and great film, concerts and dress up parties in the hidden mezzanine back room.

Is a quarter in the district of Hamburg-Mitte and is located on the Elbe river island. It's a futuristic, postmodern and the largest rebuilding project in Europe of city-planning where the old port warehouses are being replaced with offices, hotels, shops, offical buildings and residential areas. The Elbphilhamonie is a concert hall under construction and one of the main parts of HafenCity. It's designed by Herzog / de Meuron and will be the highest inhabited building of Hamburg.

Open 6 days a week (closed on Saturdays), La Trailita (it's a food truck, but before their current truck, they were just a small trailer) serves some of the best tacos and quesadillas in Chicago, including tons of vegetarian options. They are open year round (even when it gets cold!). There is another taco truck across the street at the intersection, so make sure you're going to the right one (it's in front of a convenience store). I believe it's run by some ladies from the church it parks near. Recommend their tacos al pastor and potato quesadillas. Salsa is very tasty but very spicy!
