If you can get past the bourgie factor and/or you work down the street like I do, you will come to love this place. It has some of the best food in the city, a Blue Bottle coffee, and an observation deck from which you can watch the ferries come and go, emitting their weird beeps and disgorging tourists. The people who work here are great too (whether or not I dated a baker from the Acme Bread kiosk because of a Craigslist missed connection will be left to history).

Taking a little sun and walking around Paul Linke Ufer is always a good way to spend the afternoon and recharge batteries.

Spacious bar and dining place with a scandinavian feeling to it. Different independent shops like record shops, flowers, etc inside the place. Pizza is good!

The view from my window of the concert hall and downtown LA is a great experience as an outside perspective of the city life at night.

Cultural centre in an industrial town in the north of Spain. beautiful architectural space with a lot of white concrete and geometric lines. Never busy.

The Cable Car is a gem. Cozy little theater with couches! Even better, you can have a beer and a turkey sandwich while you are watching the movie!

One of my favourite places to get coffee in downtown Stratford. Great coffee and treats made in house as well as lunch options to sit in or take out. The chocolate chip and sea salt cookie is a staple for our son Tomo.

The Botanical Garden is a truly unique place in Copenhagen, A place You can visit all year. the outdoor area is perfect for a hideaway from the city center. The Greenhouse it's absolutely stunning (entry fee)

Perfect cocktails, chicken fat rice, and a REAL fireplace. One of the coziest spots in Greenpoint, particularly in the winter. Its "off the beaten path" location keeps out the bridge and tunnel goons, so you're likely to meet actual locals. Good for dates, solo thinking, or a small group. 

A Hint of Mint, Taylors Sky, Class Freedom, Horseshoe Ping – amazing names, muscle, speed, beers, the cheap thrill of Greyhound racing at the dog tracks is a London must. It was best experienced at Walthamstow Stadium, an iconic 1930's stadium with a fantastic neon sign that sadly closed for racing in 2008. However fights to save it from demolition and reopen it for racing have been ongoing since then. So please support the campaign 'Save our Stow' and in the meantime head to the dog tracks in Romford, Wimbledon or Crayford.
