A small letterpress shop/studio in the Bairro Alto district. Great place to pick up a souvenir for your type-geek, designer friends.

Antwerp / Village

To recover from my Heideggerian confrontation with "das Sein-zum-Tode", I visit this small town. Right across the market square, there's a bakery that sells the best comfort food in the world. My tummy already hurts from looking at all those real Belgian chocolate treats. Legendary!

London / Market

Austin / Place

This is a home-made oasis for those of us who believe in fairies. The painted alleyway boasts tiny hidden doorways and even provides a generous cup of glitter for true believers to disperse showers of shimmering magic among the fish and flowers.

New York / Gallery

I came alone and walked up an unassuming flight of stairs to the second floor that opened onto a narrow hallway with a reception desk. Before arriving at the Room, I could already sense the rich smell of damp earth that permeated the space.

Nashville / Theatre

Art House theater that shows a wide variety of films and has diverse programming from midnight movies, 35mm film, live performances, art shows, lectures after the film, and more. A local staple for independent films.

London / Area

It is one of the most important business centres in London. Crowded of suits at daytime, perfectly deserted at night. It is so striking relaxing to walk in there enjoying the silence and the lights! It makes you feel pleasantly far from reality.

London / Street Art

In 1936 Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists attempted to march through East London in what was an attempt at an intimidating show of strength. Like today, this area was home to a large number of ethnic and religious minorities, particularly Jews. 300,000 people came out to oppose the march and blocked the route. The battle that followed was actually between the protesters and the police who tried to clear the route so that the march could take place. Seeing that they faced a losing battle and possibly a riot Mosley called off the march. The artist Dave Binnington began this mural in 1976 to commemorate that day, and it was eventually finished in 1982. The mural and the battle of Cable Street are both perfect examples of Britain at its very best.

Los Angeles / Place

I hang around on the rooftop to relax. Los Angeles traffic is crazy so this is a good place to calm down and try to find my zen. The view is great and I love the rooftop Neon signs you can see from here.

London / Bar

Untitled Bar is modelled on Andy Warhol’s Factory. It is sterile and minimal setting but as more bodies join, things soon warm up.

Berlin / Cafe

Situated in the patio of the Kunst-Werke, a well established exhibition house for contemporary art, this cafe features mirror-walls and a selection of nice cakes and lunch menu.

Stockholm / Illustrator

Stina Persson is from Sweden and currently resides in a sunny apartment surrounded by trees in Stockholm with her family. Stina draws her inspiration from people and faces around her, from nature, from objects she finds in thrift stores, as well as imperfections and the almost - but not quite - beautiful, to create a fusion of edgy yet traditional imagery. My work is an ongoing exploration across media, ranges from performance, drawing, painting, and photography. In my artistic practice, I contemplate about the role of materials, various media, the body, and performative elements in the process of mark making gestures. I am interested in expressing ideas about how the notion of identity, displacement, and memory are held in the body. I develop performative methods that break down boundaries between various disciplines. Through Inter-media performative practice, I incorporate the body as a material, object, and subject. I utilize the camera as a tool to capture and record my studio and staged performances, as well as activating time, space and light with body movement.  I'm interested in the complexity of performative documentation, and the potential of both traditional and new advanced media in these representations.
