I’ll say it again, I love living in a city where I can easily go to the beach for the day and be home by dark. Venice speaks for itself, I guess. I’m originally from the east coast and the sunset over the ocean still hasn’t gotten old.

Els Quatre Gats is a café in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain that famously became a popular meeting place for famous artists throughout the modernist period in Catalonia.

Seattle / Restaurant

Dick's is a longest running fast food restaurant in Seattle and a staple of the city. There are 5 locations and I've managed to always live in the same neighborhood as one, which is both a good and bad thing. Burgers, fries and milkshakes, cash only.

Paris / Club

You enter La Fidelity and will find a very classic Parisian Brasserie, probably almost empty. Maybe one or two people at the bar. In the middle of this place you will find the stairs that go down to the cave. Have fun!

Okayama / Restaurant

Small restaurant not listed anywhere. I got there by pure chance. Best sushis, sashimis and tempura I had in my life. Freeeeeesh food. Gooooood saké. Welcoming staff. ... a bit expensive but quite an experience ! PS the entry door is on the left of the sign « la plagne » and Italian restaurant Duomo.

Paris / Zoo

Paris, unlike London, Brooklyn and err Chester, isn’t famed for its zoo. That’s because there isn’t anything quite as big here, but if its quality as opposed to size you’re looking for then the zoo in the Jardin des Plantes won’t leave you disappointed. There are about 1800 animals here, a third of which are endangered species, like the Amur leopard, pictured. The reptile house has big snakes and snap-happy crocodiles. There are even kangaroos and some other animals you wouldn’t have thought hardy enough to adapt to the cold chill of the Paris winters. The only drawback is the monkey house, which is a rather forlorn place with depressed-looking chimpanzees and gorillas gazing through shit-stained glass cages.

Groningen / Academy

The Art Academy (Academie Minerva Groningen) has several buildings, and this one is still under construction, but some rooms/halls are already done. This is the main Exhibition Hall, and has different styles and kinds of art every month.

Sydney / Library

With heaps of curves, greenery and natural light, this library is super conducive to working and learning — plus there's a secret slippery slide for kids that goes through the middle of the building, just for fun

Brussels / Restaurant

One of my favourite ramen place in town, with a limited choice but well-executed recipes. Also one of the very few restaurant in Brussels where you can sit by the bar. Rare bonus: they serve Uijin from the tap!

Waimea / Nature

Nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon is about ten miles long and up to 3,600 feet deep. It's a great place to realize how small you and your problems actually are. There are several lookout points as you drive through the canyon. In the designated areas you have to pay for parking but once you pay for this first one, you should be golden for all other parking areas. It's a bit of a drive to get into that area, so I highly recommend bringing some sandwiches and snacks to have lunch while taking in the view.

Budapest / Photographer

Born in 1989, of Hungarian origin, Kata Geibl studied photography in Budapest at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland. Her work is mainly focused on humanity, collective memory and the ambiguities of the photographic medium. In the last 3 years she has exhibited in group shows in Budapest and became a member of the young Artists’ and Photographers’ Association. She will present her most recent series, Sisyphus, at the Unseen Amsterdam festival in September. Bianca Felicori is a PhD candidate at UCLouvain with a research Fellow (ASP - Aspirant) fellowship of the Fund for Scientific Research-FNRS. Together with Professor Beatrice Lampariello she carries out her research with the aim of demonstrating the confluence of artistic and architectural experimentation born in Europe and America between the 1960s and 1970s. She graduated at the Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on history of architecture dedicated to the intersection of architectural and artistic thought between 1965 and 1976, a topic read in relation to the publications of the critic Germano Celant in the magazine “Casabella”. She has curated exhibitions and cultural programs collaborating with institutions such as Triennale (Milano, Italy) and she wrote for magazines such as “Domus” and “AD”. She recently published the book Forgotten Architecture (Nero Editions 2022).

Graphic Designer. Jaemin Lee graduated from Seoul National University and founded studio fnt in 2006. He took part in several exhibitions such as Typojanchi 2015: The 4th International Typography Biennale, Weltformat 15 Plakatfestival Luzern, Korea Now! Craft, Design, Fashion and Graphic Design in Korea, Graphic Symphonia and CREATIVE©ITIES, and worked with clients like National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, National Theater Company of Korea and Seoul Records & CD Fair Organizing Committee on many cultural events and concerts. Since 2011, he has actively worked with Junglim Foundation on projects about architecture, culture, arts and education, forum, exhibitions and research in order to explore meaningful exchanges with the public about subjects like the social role of architecture and urban living. He also teaches graphic design at Seoul National University and University of Seoul. He is an AGI(Alliance Graphique Internationale) member since 2016.
