My little Tokyo in Shanghai which is my go-to for cool vinyl DJ events. Designed and operated by UDS, a leading design firm from Japan, the cafe has very community-friendly space for all range of customers, a seasonal menu (Japanese family style curry rice and fried chicken are highly recommended!! ) and curated merchants and events.

The Ancient Agora of Athens was the central public space in the city of Athens during the Classical period of ancient Greece. It served as a place for citizens to gather for political, commercial, and social activities. The Agora was originally used as a marketplace, but over time it became a place for public gatherings, religious ceremonies, and political debates. It was also home to many important buildings and structures, such as the Stoa of Attalos, the Temple of Hephaestus, and the Bouleuterion (council chamber). The Agora was the birthplace of democracy in Athens, as it was the site of the popular assemblies where citizens could voice their opinions and vote on important issues. It was also where famous philosophers, such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, gave their lectures and debated with one another. Today, the Ancient Agora of Athens is a popular tourist attraction and an important archaeological site. Visitors can see the ruins of the ancient buildings and structures, and learn about the history of ancient Athens and Greek democracy.

It's actually in Kuala Lumpur, well, but worth the 50min flight. Authentic and nostalgic, it's been left untouched since the 50s, now with 3de generation family working the floors. No menues, so shoot from the hip... the food is amazing, with minute fresh ingredients and still cooked using firewood. This is one of the best food spots in south east.

Katja Mater is a visual artist and filmmaker, interested in revealing a different or alternative (experience of) reality through capturing the areas where optical media hardly behave like the human eye, recording events that simultaneously can and cannot be – holding midway between information and interpretation. Next to her artist practice Mater is editor and art director for Girls Like Us Magazine; An independent magazine turning the spotlight on an international expanding community of lesbians and queers within arts, culture and activism. Through personal stories, essays and vanguard visuals Girls Like Us unfolds feminist legacies in arts, design and writing.
