Bayberry Beer Hall is a contemporary take on a German beer hall—open year round and filled with plants, the space offers New England-made brews from local favorites like Oxbow, Maine Beer Co., Aeronaut, Proclamation Ale Company (and of course, Narraganset). It's scandi communal tables are great for big groups, and despite being billed as a beer hall, it's food is surprisingly exceptional and seasonally inspired. Be sure to try the pretzel.

My favorite place on Bedford Avenue, this bookstore has both new and used titles. If you're patient and look close enough, you can usually find a book that's worth more than they're asking. Not to mention their stellar selection of magazine titles. Good for design, art, photography, sociology, fiction, and everything in between.

A Mesa is an art gallery, founded by four women, who define it as a resistant space. It is located in the colorful Morro da Conceição, in front of a small square where talks and events are held in parallel with exhibitions, gathering local inhabitants and visitors.

With a wood panelled interior and romantic low light, this restaurant exudes the type of atmosphere you imagine of a high seas luxury cruise or train travel in the 1920s. The waiters are officiously attentive, the food incredibly tasty and fresh and the experience one not to be missed in Venice. Located near the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, you cross a small bridge and enter directly into the front door of this cosy eatery. Great spot for an authentic Venetian meal and opportunity to dine in a rather special canal-side interior.

Floating University Berlin is a self organized space and group, where practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds meet to collaborate, co-create and imaginatively work towards futures. It defines itself as “A Natureculture learning site” investigating alternative narratives for urban development. I am totally in love with this place!!!

This cinema is nothing special if you're looking for that comercial combo big screens + major sound system, but it has its own sidewalk charm and decadent glam. Also it makes a good option for a date. You have plenty to choose for dinner and drinks all around Kottbusser Tor.

In the Mission, now as terminally hip as it was formally poor, the St Francis is a greasy good time since 1918. Stuck beautifully in the 50's both aesthetically and menu wise it's Americana in a bun. Dig in.

Perfect place to breath on Sunday, make a picnic when spring arrives, fishing, etc... Since 2007 and development work, the Rhone offers many little nice spot to hang out with friends.

Museum Floriano Peixoto - was ones the Maceió cityhall, now works as a museum with a nice and pretty unkown amount of art pieces by early XX artists from Alagoas, filled with historical furniture and oppulent spaces.
