Paris / Restaurant

A small market open Tuesday to Saturday in a beautiful hall at 39, rue de Bretagne in the 3rd arrondissement. People come here for lunch as much as for shopping. It is the oldest market in Paris and it takes its name from an orphanage, established in the sixteenth century, who collected the lost children and wore red. Especially the Japanese cookshop and the Cous-Cous are worth going there.

Hamburg / Place

If you want to leave the city and breathe in some fresh air, just buy a "Schleswig Holstein Ticket" and go by train to Travemünde. A borough of Lübeck about 1,5 hours away from Hamburg and located next to the sea. It has been a seaside resort since 1802 and has still some architecture, signs and symbols from the 19th century to show.

Before you head to The Office NYC, stop at MAD - it is a beautiful museum with ever-changing exhibitions.

One of the best curated visual art books in New York and the World, with a bent towards a crossover of music/art/psychedelics. A place to feed the art habit, remembering that the greatest images are still locked in books and not online.

Madrid / Cafe

After long hours at Reina Sofia museum time for going to Outer Space. It's called NuBel and it makes you wonderfully dizzy. Or, better, go there just before the museum - drink some wine and go to admire Guernica in 3D.

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, abbreviated as "MAMCO", is a contemporary art museum in Switzerland. The MAMCO has an exhibition area of 3,500 m2 and bases its work on a collection of 3000 works. Since its opening in 1994, the museum has presented exhibitions reflecting the diversity and dynamism of the Swiss and international art scene. Large retrospectives are regularly proposed, such as those devoted to Martin Kippenberger, Jim Shaw, Sylvie Fleury, John Armleder or William Leavitt. Three times a year, MAMCO renews its presentation and exhibitions. Dialogue hooking up collections and temporary proposals, it offers a journey that is more than the sum of its parts.

You can go there by car and then take the ferry either to Pines or Cherry Grove (I would prefer Pines!) or you do all by public transportation - there a "getaway tickes" for 36Dollars and the transfer works really smooth - may even be faster than by car!

Berlin / Art Centre

KINDL- Center for Contemporary Art. It’s an old brewery that has been transformed into an Art Center, … both galleries often have unusual, beautiful and thought provoking shows.

Antwerp / Museum

Open air sculpture museum with an impressive collection of sculptures and trees. Entrance to the park is free of charge, but they have a café and a small book shop if you do want to keep your money moving.

Milan / Restaurant

A fairly new restaurant, managed by young people. The place is beautifully furnished, very minimal and reflects perfectly the quality of the food, a contemporary version of italian cuisine, but absolutely not artefact in its quality. Amazing ingredients, amazing food, and a special bravo to the sommelier.

Jos Buivenga can be passionate about a lot of things. He loves to paint, listen to music, brew an almost perfect espresso... but nothing challenges and rewards him more than designing type. If ever he was stranded on a desert island he would still draw alphabets in the sand, even if there was no one else to see them. He is the founder of exljbris, the one-man Dutch font foundry through which he releases and offers his typefaces. For 15 years, his online friends and fans could follow the development of his typefaces and download the results at no cost. In 2008, while still working as an art director at an advertising agency, he released his first commercial typeface Museo with several weights offered for free. My work is an ongoing exploration across media, ranges from performance, drawing, painting, and photography. In my artistic practice, I contemplate about the role of materials, various media, the body, and performative elements in the process of mark making gestures. I am interested in expressing ideas about how the notion of identity, displacement, and memory are held in the body. I develop performative methods that break down boundaries between various disciplines. Through Inter-media performative practice, I incorporate the body as a material, object, and subject. I utilize the camera as a tool to capture and record my studio and staged performances, as well as activating time, space and light with body movement.  I'm interested in the complexity of performative documentation, and the potential of both traditional and new advanced media in these representations.
